WHAT THE FIDDLE IS WRIGGLE?

Think of us as your Fairy Grubmother. Our mission is to help you discover the best local food & drink establishments, with the helping hand of exclusive savings. Since launching in our home town of Bristol in 2014, we’ve connected tens of thousands of people with hundreds of their best local restaurants, bars, pubs, cafes and more. See where Wriggle takes you; every special offer on the site is a personal invitation from a business owner to try them out - we carefully handpick our partner businesses, and know you’ll love them too.

WHAT’S SO SPECIAL ABOUT WRIGGLE?

Because we want to introduce you to the best local places, not just the standard high street chains, whilst simultaneously helping those smaller businesses with their efficiency. And because we want to provide something that inspires your trust and excitement, and our partner restaurants’ loyalty. Continuing this theme, we’re now developing a full guide to local food and drink – highly curated, all independent, all excellent at what they do and worth shouting about.

HOW THE DEVIL DID THIS HAPPEN?

Before Wriggle there was Rob. Wriggle was originally pitched – back in the murky depths of 2013 – as a tech-enabled solution to restaurant food surplus; a tool allowing food and drink retailers to drop their prices in real-time, relative to unsold stock. But Rob noticed something else; potential waste goes above and beyond perishable stock. Every empty table, every cancellation, every off-peak hour, every anticipated lull, every badly publicised new opening, every new product that falls under the radar – all represent an opportunity wasted.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO ME?

It’s not just retailers who were missing a trick here. People – like you and me – are constantly missing out on something better; something more interesting, something better priced, something hidden away. So, instead of taking the easy route and approaching chain businesses with this new technology, Rob and Yasmin (who does all Wriggle’s beautiful design work) decided to be highly selective about who to include: strictly high quality independent establishments, the types that don’t usually do offers. Except on Wriggle.
