Any Burger, Homemade Fries & Pint of Amstel or Bottle of Peroni

Stacked in towers, drowning in instagrammable saucy goodness, handmade and punctuated with the wares of nearby Welsh suppliers: Buffalo's burger offering is a city centre sight to behold. With this Wriggle, you'll enjoy any burger that takes your fancy (including a "build your own" option), a fistful of handmade chips and a pint of Amstel or bottle of Peroni. Meaty, veggie and gluten free options fill the menu, so there'll be a bap-based treat here for everyone. Not bad, eh?

If you're after a recommendation, it's got to be the Bonnie & Clyde - think a classic BLT smothered in Monterey Jack cheese and reinforced with a big ol' beef patty. Nice.

Why we love Buffalo Bar: Set cheek by jowl with the city centre's thicket of concrete commercialism (but standing a lightyear apart from neighbouring chains) Buffalo is a welcome departure from the norm in this part of town - the sort of eye-catching indie that'll have you saying "bi-son" to the likes of Wetherspoons' Central Bar across the road in no time at all.

Serving up an adventurous variety of beers, an easy-drinking selection of cocktails laden with speciality spirits (but, thankfully, avoiding any needless pretence) and a satisfyingly uncomplicated food offering, Buffalo's mix of proper nourishment and vibe-led lounge-chiq does "well-deserved chilling" pretty damn well.

The tunes here are made with movement in mind (think jazzy EDM by day and lively local bands or DJs by night) and, as the lights begin to dim, afternoon regulars morph into evening revellers looking to make the al-fresco-most of the venue's heated cocktail garden until the wee small hours. In case you were wandering, Buffalo Bar isn't afraid of a party.

Thanks to its crossover aesthetic (this is what it would feel like if a lounge, a bar and a club released a greatest hits album), Buffalo is a proudly independent, unshackled sort of place. Perfect, we think, for a Wriggler or two.
