About the {{offerTypeLabel(offer)}}

Gigglin' Wrigglers, this one's for you! After a string of outrageously successful shows in January and February, you don’t want to miss The Antics Joke Show in April. Featured in The Bristol Magazine and Bristol 24/7, The Antics Joke Show is the hottest ticket in town. Bristol-based comedy collective Up The Antics return for another jam packed night of stand-up, sketches and improv all for only a fiver. So, what's on the bill?

Headline Act: JOLLYBOAT

Stopping in with us on their national tour, the Jollyboat boys are back for a record third appearance headlining the Antics Joke Show! Jollyboat are the UK's best comedy-pirate-geek-rock duo. Brothers Tommy and Ed write catchy songs and lyrics packed with fast-paced one-liners. They always have fun, and it's highly infectious.
Jollyboat have performed at Glastonbury among many other festivals, won the UK Musical Comedy Awards, and toured Europe & Australia. This is a show unlike anything you've seen before!

Improv from: HALFWAY UP

Improvisers from Up The Antics create a whole word set in one room, from just a one-word suggestion. What could possibly go wrong?

"Up The Antics ... are taking the city by storm" (The Bristol Magazine)

Standup from: LAURA OLLERTON

Laura is a standup comedian gently meandering towards her dream after making a pocket-sized joke book when she was 8. Tasting the crumbs of everyday things and putting a layer of absurd icing on top, she’s an amiable weirdo who wants to share her ideas. Who is life, what are we here and is it OK to talk to your hoover?

"Hubert McIntyre starred in Zomo the Rabbit, and is wildly exuberant, full of slapstick and mischief. He is a small but triumphant hero clad in a colourful dashiki and a cap. Adept at Powerpoint, InDesign and Word. My third favourite Bristol comedian."

Doors are at 7pm for a 7:30pm start.

About "Up The Antics" Sketch & Improv Comedy @ Café Kino

Cafe Kino, true to its name, provides a real window to the world. Floor to ceiling glass bad-boys encircle the shop front, revealing the eccentricities of a notoriously-difficult-to-navigate junction in the heart of Stokes Croft, and making it one the greatest people watching spots we’ve come across. Whilst you're watching the world go by, tuck into all manner of guilt-free vegan goodies – burgers, breakfasts, falafel, fresh salads and cakes – and a cracking selection of proper loose leaf teas, fairtrade coffee and cool beverages. It's timeless and idiosyncratic with an undeniably cinematic feel (think more along the lines of considered documentary than dream-like surrealism), and the inclusion of well-chosen local beers, cider and wines help make the experience all the more picturesque (especially as the evenings draw in). Kino is also a fine community resource, exhibiting the work of local artists on their walls and offering up an affordable event space downstairs. Great for meetings, workshops and music events – a righteous moving picture.
