** IMPROV FROM … **

After their longform debut at the December show, the improv division of house team Up The Antics are back for more. You suggest a word at the beginning of the show, then sit back and watch our talented improvisers create their very own world. Half an hour of improv, set in one room -- what could possibly go wrong?

** STAND-UP FROM … **

Rob Cooper is a Bristol-based stand-up comedian. He tells jokes of varying lengths. Chortle Student Comedy Award Semi-Finalist 2017. Hale Barns Cricket Club Coach's Award 2009.

Becky is a trainee nurse whose reckless optimism and NHS stories make for an entertaining stand-up set. She has compered at the Wardrobe Theatre's monthly Bristol Story Slam for the past two years (recommended in Guardian's Alternative Guide to Bristol and Maisie Williams' Top 5 Bristol Favourites).

ROS BEESON is a sure-fire crowd pleaser, having entertained audiences in numerous venues across the South West. Originally from Stratford-Upon-Avon and now Bristol based, she doesn’t just amuse southerners – having performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2017.

About "Up The Antics" Sketch & Improv Comedy @ Café Kino

Cafe Kino, true to its name, provides a real window to the world. Floor to ceiling glass bad-boys encircle the shop front, revealing the eccentricities of a notoriously-difficult-to-navigate junction in the heart of Stokes Croft, and making it one the greatest people watching spots we’ve come across. Whilst you're watching the world go by, tuck into all manner of guilt-free vegan goodies – burgers, breakfasts, falafel, fresh salads and cakes – and a cracking selection of proper loose leaf teas, fairtrade coffee and cool beverages. It's timeless and idiosyncratic with an undeniably cinematic feel (think more along the lines of considered documentary than dream-like surrealism), and the inclusion of well-chosen local beers, cider and wines help make the experience all the more picturesque (especially as the evenings draw in). Kino is also a fine community resource, exhibiting the work of local artists on their walls and offering up an affordable event space downstairs. Great for meetings, workshops and music events – a righteous moving picture.
