Flora and Robin, the husband and wife team behind The Pickled Brisket, have added Grilled Cheese to their already popular salt beef menu, and it's a pretty-much-perfect cold weather comfort food.

Inspired by some of their favourite grilled cheeses (enjoyed, mainly, at London's Borough Market, from fellow Bristolian street-food stalwarts For Mice & Men and at home with the fam), The Pickled Brisket's latest offering has a distinctly Wapping Wharf feel to it - as most of the ingredients come from their shipping-container-based foodie neighbours. We love it!

First, think a base of sourdough rye from Assembly Bakery, Cheese from The Bristol Cheesemonger and a glaze of Ostley's Cloudy Cider Vinegar from Better Food just around the corner.

Then, pick one topping of your choice (meaty or veggie up for grabs) or get creative, pay extra for more toppings and make your very own cheese feast

Pickled Brisket's house Russian dressing along with Mustard and Chipotle Ketchup from Gingerbeard's Preserves are on offer, along with a smorgasbord of pickled fancies - jalapenos, red cabbage, cucumbers, sauerkraut, a guest cheese and - of course - their indefatigably delicious Salt Beef.

Finally, grab yourself a drink and raise a toast to Pickled Brisket's Grilled Cheese awesomeness!

About The Pickled Brisket

The Pickled Brisket is Bristol's only salt beer bar. It's brought to you by husband and wife team Robin and Flora, who, having built up a reputation on the Bristol streetfood scene, are now doing their beefy-thing from a container at Cargo 2, at Wapping Wharf. Robin was brought up on the best salt beef in the country, eating in salt beef bars such as Selfridges' Brass Rail and the famous Brick Lane Beigel Bake. When he moved to Bristol there wasn't anywhere he could get the type of salt beef that truly reminded him of what salt beef was about while he was growing up. So The Pickled Brisket was born. They cure locally sourced beef farmed on the Somerset Levels and serve it on bread from a local family bakery. They even have their own mustard produced here in Bristol by Gingerbeard's Preserves. Each sandwich is carved to order to provide a hot salt beef sandwich that would be fit to grace the plate of any New York deli. They serve a variety of different hot salt beef treats including their famous Reuben with blow torched Swiss Cheese.
