About the {{offerTypeLabel(offer)}}

Glitz and glamour, illicit affairs and raucous parties - if walls could talk then those at Rio’s infamous Copacabana Palace would have stories to shock even the most hardened party goer. So it goes without saying that we’re very excited that Bristol's favourite speakeasy, The Milk Thistle, is bringing the spirit of 1920’s Rio to the city for their next party, in ode to one of the most notorious hotels in the world!

On Friday 18th May The Milk Thistle will be transporting you back in time to a bygone age, when the elite of 1920’s high society would escape to the fabulous Art Deco Copacabana Palace, rubbing shoulders with royalty, celebrities and gangsters for endless days of partying. Dress to impress, as you'll be treated to an exclusive night of specially created tropical cocktails, live music, performers and dancing until the small hours.

Built in 1923 The Copacabana Palace is renown for being one of the most opulent hotels in the world, playing host to the rich and famous over the decades, and with them, multiple scandals! Orson Welles once famously threw a piano in the pool and Alice Cooper once lost his boa constrictor in the hotel, after wrecking four of the rooms. So whilst they won’t be encouraging snakes or criminal damage, The Milk Thistle will be throwing an exotic 1920’s party to rival them all!

Ticket are £25 and include a cocktail on arrival, plus a further two cocktails of your choice from our specially created Copacabana cocktail menu, as well as all-night-long entertainment. Historically Milk Thistle's parties sell out fast, so if you love the sound of a night of tropical 1920’s inspired revelry get yours here today.

About The Milk Thistle

Referred to as “the flirty younger sister” of Hyde & Co (another great speakeasy by the same folks), we’d consider it more of a classy (but slightly sozzled) great-aunt. This place smacks of timeless grandeur: walls dripping with rich velvet curtains; leather clad armchairs and mahogany propped bar stools; stained glass drenching sultry light over a fabulous array of spirits (they layer three bars across just as many floors). The drinks ain't cheap (great auntie wasn’t either), but they’re expertly crafted and served in style by smart, attentive and discrete mixologists. It’s always La Belle Epoque – so don your smartest stitches, hide the budget and get involved.
