Bored of the same old routine? Perhaps it’s time to test your creative skills on early photography techniques with chemigrams. The chemigram is a simple painterly process which can be applied onto photographic paper outside, using darkroom chemicals and resistant materials. They can often seem like multidimensional images from another world and have a psychedelic feel.

Join Sophie Sherwood for an enjoyable and experimental workshop if you’re interested in photography and arts. No experience is necessary, after all, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder...

There are two sessions for this fantastic workshop, one from 1pm until 3pm, and a second one from 4pm until 6pm, make sure to select the correct Wriggle when booking!

About Sophie Sherwood

Originally from the coast of Dorset in England, Sophie Sherwood attributes her creative skills to her background; her mother is a jewellery designer and her father was a musician and illustrator. As a result, Sophie has strived to be a part of the arts from an early age, studying both photography and fine art at college, and taking up the ukulele shortly after starting her degree. Graduating in 2012 in Photography from Plymouth University she continues to make work based around the death of her father. In the final stages of her degree she took the route of narrative photography, using the camera and alternative photographic methods (such as cyanotypes and photograms) to describe stories given to her. Her current series is based on collected negatives and photographs from the past, using these to create negative collages to reimagine memories and people. Ongoing projects include work exploring other people's detritus, and the changing nature of this in her surroundings where she lives, and an untitled project looking at natural forms using the camera intuitively.
