About the {{offerTypeLabel(offer)}}

It's almost impossible to find a good pasty in Bristol (trust us, we've tried!) but - thanks to The Mud Dock - this Cornish classic is back on the menu.

As any Cornishman will tell you, the sight of a Ginster's is enough to make your blood boil (limp pastry, over-processed meat fillings and a cellophane wrap don't exactly inspire foodie confidence. Yuk). The Mud Dock, though, have crafted a cracking pasty, and we're delighted to give it the Wriggle treatment.

Think a proper pasty (crimp on the side, hot and peppery, shortcrust pastry rolled at just the right thickness and with just the right amount of flake) served with tangy home-made chutney and - if the filling calls for it - a handful of rocket on the side. The options change every day (we are in Bristol, after all) but there will usually be a veggie and meaty option available (if in doubt, please call Mud Dock to confirm). Example flavours include:
  • Home roast cider glazed ham, cheddar and apricot jam
  • Potato, Smoked Somerset cheddar and peas
  • Roasted Mediterranean vegetables and feta
  • Free range pork sausage and caramelised onion
  • Traditional beef skirt and root vegetables.

About Mud Dock

Sittin' on the Mud-Dock of the bay (well, floating harbour), this is the perfect place to be wastin' time, watching the ships roll in. In the morning sun with a coffee, or when indulging in something a tad more wholesome when the evening comes, the quality of the food and the gorgeous views from the terrace of this converted boat warehouse make any visit here thoroughly memorable. The famous Mud Dock Cycleworks is on the ground floor, so the café upstairs has steadily evolved into something of a Mecca (or a Ventoux?) for discerning foodies and cyclists alike. Vintage road bikes hang between the café's weathered metal ceiling struts and classic stage race memorabilia adorns age-old wooden walls, whilst ever-changing seasonal breakfast, lunch and dinner specials are scribbled on blackboards for your delectation. Floor-to-ceiling windows drench light throughout the Mud Dock’s interior (one of them handily backlighting a temptingly fine array of spirits) – it’s a thoroughly enjoyable sort of space; warm in an industrial sort of way, and always conversational. For hearty breakfasts, light & delicious lunches and fresh yet simple evening dishes, roll over to the Mud Dock – it's wheely good.
