About Houria @ Baraka Community Cafe

Houria is a Pan-African catering company serving up delicious dishes at events and markets across Bristol and the South West of England. From cookery classes to supper clubs and community feasts, the food is inspired by their native cuisines and is modern take on national classics. With a strong ethical slant, Houria began as a social enterprise to train refugees and migrant women to become cookery teachers and chefs – recognising the need for safe employment for this demographic in Bristol. Houria means freedom and at Houria they aim to elevate the freedom, confidence and wellbeing of the women in the community through making food and feasting together.
