June 30th sees the launch of an exciting new pop-up from Bristol locals, and friends of Windmill Hill farm, fire-obsessed food writer Genevieve Taylor and chef/cookery teacher Jo Ingleby, a former BBC Cook of the Year. 

For their first FoodFireEarth supper, Jo and Genevieve take over Windmill Hill City Farm cafe and outdoor kitchen for an evening of spectacular food, plenty of fire and a chance to see behind the scenes at the farm on a mini tour of the garden and animals

You'll be welcomed with wood fired nibbles and a seasonal aperitif in the outdoor kitchen, before sitting down to a sumptuous three course, wood fired dinner that's fully rooted in the elements of fire and earth. They will be be cooking recipes from Genevieve’s new book on wood fired oven cookery and using plenty of produce from the farm and their own allotments. This will be a truly seasonal, local feast, heady with spices and bursting with herbs.   • Spiced Charred Carrots with Local Ricotta and Pecans
  • Freekeh, Preserved Lemon, Roast Chickpeas and Kale with Farm Herbs
  • Whole Roasted Cauliflower, Sage Burnt Butter
  •  Roasted Chilli Harissa
  • Wood Oven Baked Herb Bread with Dukkah

The Main Event – choose between:

  • 15 hour Beef Brisket with Ras el Hanout
  • M’hencha-Filo Pastry Spiral filled with Roasted Aubergine, Peppers, Homewood Feta, Beluga Lentils and Spinach
  • Rainbow Paella with Chard, Tomatoes and Courgettes
  • Chioggia Beetroot Carpaccio with Windmill Hill leaves, Herbs and Flowers

Pudding – choose between: 

  • Bristol Forest Gateau
  • Wood Oven Baked Elderflower and Gooseberry Cheesecake
  • Local Strawberries and Clotted Cream

FoodFireEarth is the passion project of local food writer Genevieve Taylor and BBC's Cook of the Year, Jo Ingleby. A series of mouthwatering pop -ups, supper-clubs and food events in unusual and unique venues around Bristol. The project is based around fire and earth – Jo and Genevieve's mutual passions.
