About the {{offerTypeLabel(offer)}}

This event is part of the 2018 Bristol Food Connections festival – a citywide celebration of the fantastic, varied and delicious food culture in our city. From the 11th - 17th June, BFC will shine a light on the diverse people, businesses and organisations that make our city's food culture so incredible. Head to the festival and embark upon a voyage of discovery and exploration, learning about all aspects of the journey of food – from field to fork.

Head over to the beautiful and mysterious Blaise Community Gardens for a fun and informative herb and cookery workshop. Affectionately known as the Secret Garden, the wonderful community garden will be playing host to a brilliant opportunity to learn all about how to use herbs for health and wellbeing. You'll have the chance to take part in a foraging workshop, and – most excitingly – you'll join in with the cooking and eating of a delicious lunch made using herbs grown at the garden!

All you need to do is book your spot through Wriggle, and then head to Blaise Community Gardens in good time for the event!

There is a fabulous foraging event also taking place at the same time, organised by Go Foraging. If you'd like to attend the foraging walk, please check the Wriggle event's page and book yourself a space!

About Blaise Community Garden @ Bristol Food Connections

Tucked away behind the walls of the Blaise Estate in Henbury, Bristol lies a secret garden, first established in the 1800s, which has been long since forgotten. Affectionately referred to as the Secret Garden, this hidden gem's formal name is Blaise Community Garden, and since 2013 has been in the hands of the Friends of Blaise and Henbury Conservation Society. This devoted team worked hard to restore a part of the garden and create Henbury’s first community kitchen garden. Today, the project remains entirely volunteer led, and is intended to provide a chance for members of the community to come together, learn about growing plants, and share their time to grow some delicious produce. Refund policy: no refunds.

How to claim

Purchase your Wriggle through the app or website now, and then head on over to Blaise Community Garden in plenty of time – the community garden is next to Blaise Castle House Museum, Henbury Road. From Blaise castle car park, follow the path past the play area until you get to Blaise museum (about 600 m from car park). The community garden is just behind the museum. Take the left hand path (so that you have the museum to your right), carry along the path, past the museum. Take a slight right through the black metal gate- past the rose garden, and you will find the garden! An alternative entrance is through the gates 50 yds up from the Blaise Inn, walk past a courtyard on the left and you’ll reach the black metal gates mentioned above. Please do not park in this area as space is severely restricted and is used by those working in the museum. Introduce yourself as a Wriggler, show your code and then enjoy the event. Don't forget to fill in the feedback form the following day for your chance to win £20 worth of Wriggle credit!
