Can't be bothered to cook breakfast on this glorious morning? How about you let the skilful Sun on the Hill staff do it for you instead? Wriggle over and dig into a full plate of that traditional yet oh-so-perfect full English breakfast - it's quite simply the best way to start your day.

What makes up this beauty of a plate, we see you wonder. Well, Wriggler, the Big English is composed of a generous serving of bacon, sausages, two fried eggs, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, two slices of toast & hash browns - that's the good stuff!

Add to that the tea or coffee that your heart desires, and you've got yourself your breakfast sorted.

About The Sun on the Hill

It’s hard not to miss The Sun on the Hill with its bright blue façade, illuminated golden signage and wide windows spanning across two floors. Standing on Bennetts Hill, it’s an invitation for a good old-fashioned drink or two with your mates, and a promise of some great pub grub. Step inside and its chic look continues with its mix-match of old-school upcycled furniture, industrial lampshades and bold artworks that scatter themselves across the walls at varying heights and angles. At one end, you’ll find the long bar with a checkered flooring at its threshold; lined with keg and cask beers and ciders, and a wall display of varying spirits, wines and sparkling beverages, it’s a sight for sore eyes at the end of a long working week. Usually, you’ll find us sampling their ever-changing ale selection (the Butty Bach from Wye Valley Brewery being our favourite when that’s on), but sometimes you can’t beat the cool and refreshing Brooklyn Lager that they keep on tap. The Sun on the Hill is also doing all the right things when it comes to their pub grub. They keep it simple with a selection of classics, including juicy burgers, tapas style dishes (plenty of vegan options here), and a choice of flatbreads (with toppings ranging from BBQ chicken and bacon, to halloumi and sweet potato falafel). The Sunday Roast offerings are top notch too - from Hereford beef to a nut roast with vegetarian gravy - which are all served crisp yorkshire puddings, potatoes and seasonal market vegetables. Offering everything you’d expect from a modern local, it’s no wonder that The Sun on the Hill is well loved. On Friday nights and Saturday evenings you can expect to find The Sun on the Hill packed full of people, with the huge space awash with conversations, laughter and the clinking of pint glasses. They also have a few screens too, so it’s a good spot to catch the football and major sporting events, whilst soaking up a buzzy atmosphere. Is it time to make this independent gem your new local?
