About Stag Digbeth

If you think balancing a bar, coffee house and barbers in one venue is an impossible feat, then you might have missed the Stag Digbeth. Making itself part of the Custard Factory’s ever-growing collection of quality independent venues, the Stag Digbeth is one cool hangout. Based in one of the area’s many converted warehouses, the team behind the venture have relished in its rich industrial setting. The interior calmly boasts a stripped back look, with rough red brickwork, simple hand-built furniture, and exposed metallic elements. On entry, you’ll meet the bar-slash-coffeehouse. A long wooden clad bar with a gleaming metallic top runs along one side, where a specialised drinks team busy themselves by mixing house cocktails (the Super Fruity 3 Rum Punch is exactly what the doctor ordered) and pouring crisp pints (ours is the Meantime Anytime IPA, cheers). There’s plenty of space to stand and sit, and on busier nights or hot days, the large doors open up to allow punters to spill into the Custard Factory’s buzzy courtyard space. The far end is dedicated to their barbers. Decked out with old-school barber chairs and red leather chesterfields, and run by a team of highly-skilled barbers, there’s really no where better to stop by for a trim. And if that’s not enough, the Stag Digbeth has also been known to play host to some street food traders, throwing great grub into their already popular mix of style and entertainment. The Rebel Chicken Co. and the House of Hen have both rocked up to serve their outstanding hot wings and fried chicken in the past, so expect to see more of the same in the future. So will all venues be striving to become an all-in-one destination in the future? Who knows. One thing is clear though - that the Stag Digbeth have proven that you can be masters of all trades.
