    About Queens Arms

190 years old, and still going strong - the Queens Arms on Newhall St has stood as an enduring figurehead in Birmingham’s pub community for a long long time, and it’s showing no signs of going out of fashion any time soon. With its fanciful Art Nouveau tiled frontage, embellished cornicing and period fireplaces, there’s certainly an old-school charm to the space. But what makes the Queens Arms such a popular watering-hole is its adaptability to the times. Its drinks selection alone twists and turns with modern tastes, with a plethora of quality cask ales, fresh craft beers and a-grade spirits making up just a small hold of its arsenal. It also boasts a curated wine last with a choice of bottles and by-the-glass servings. So whether you want to keep things classic with a rich Guinness or fancy sipping on a Roundhouse gin and Sicilian lemon tonic, they’ve nailed the formula with a seemingly endless range of drinks that are guaranteed to quench the thirst of even the fussiest of drinkers. There’s always something new on offer too, so you can avoid getting caught up in old tricks; our last visit Purity’s Longhorn Rye IPA which was fresh on tap. The food resonates this vision, merging modern favourites with glorious gastro-pub eats to present a vibrant menu of whistle whetting delights. Order the delicately-beer-battered haddock, with mushy peas, tartare sauce, chips if you fancy a soul warming classic, or the Bacon cheeseburger (generously stacked with lettuce, tomato, onion, gherkin, house sauce) and fries for a downright unpretentious yet flavoursome feast. For something a little different, you’ve got to get your mitts on the Dirty Jack burger - a rewarding mountain of Jackfruit, ladened on top of crisp lettuce, juicy tomato tomato, tangy onion, and sweet burger sauce. The Queens Arms is a satisfying sight for sore eyes. It’s buzzy atmosphere, generous drinks selection and hearty bites offer up everything you want from a local watering-hole and so much more.
