One of Cardiff's most popular pop-ups has confirmed they will be opening a permanent, bricks and mortar restaurant on Cowbridge Road East this summer.
Bwydiful is a mobile street food business, formed of a partnership between Chris Mason and Jon Gregor. Chris and Jon left successful careers in summer 2015 to pursue their passion for food and a bring to life their vision of owning a successful business together.
Bwydiful began trading in October 2015 and has since enjoyed great success in serving wholesome, artisan street food from a bright orange ‘street kitchen’ at many events and high profile venues across South Wales. In addition to being a regular trader at the DEPOT, Bwydiful has been a part of Newport Food Festival, Riverside Real Food, and has also provided much-needed sustenance to the worn-out runners crossing the line at the Cardiff Half Marathon.
The duo behind Bwydiful pride themselves on using local, independent suppliers to source the best Welsh produce available, including exclusively Welsh beef supplied by Farmer’s Pantry at Rosedew Farm in Llantwit Major, and freshly baked sourdough rolls by Nata & Co. At the new restaurant, they will also be serving a new Bwydiful beer, brewed in partnership with local brewery, Crafty Devil.
Jon explained, "Victoria Park is growing as a hub for fantastic, independent food venues and Bwydiful isdelighted to be joining this club. We are over the moon to have secured such an awesome location and we’re looking forward to joining the other wonderful businesses already causing a stir on the South Wales food scene"
"We’ve had wonderful support from our customers over the last few years, and can't wait to welcome customers old and new to our first proper restaurant,” continued Chris.
“Of course, the hard work starts here as we make our vision a reality!"
Good luck guys, we can't wait to see you open.
