We've been hard at work to bring you lucky lot the very best food and drink on offer in Cardiff – help yourselves!

Tiny Rebel Cardiff is a pantheon of powerfully-hopped pintage and craftily-bottled beers. Nestled in the magnificent shadow of Cardiff's cathedral and chapel of Rugby (the towering Millennium Stadium and diminutive Cardiff Arms Park, respectively), this not-so-tiny redbrick cube is where those who believe in a beerier-brew really go to church. Brilliantly brewed beers take centre stage here – get your Wriggle before they're all gone.

After some theoretical burger awesomeness? You've come to the right place, oh hungry Wriggler. Rory and Oliver are the burger-theorists behind "Burger Theory", and they've concocted a menu to turn heads and tantalise tastebuds. Their portions are generous, their flavour combinations are experimental and their eccentricity makes a real statement. Craziness aside, there is a connecting theme here: all the burgers are big and all the burgers are juicy. You bite these burgers, and they damn sure bite back.

Welcome to Milgi Market, nestled in amongst the hustle and bustle of one of Cardiff's oldest grazing spots, the Victorian Indoor Market. The two Milgi sisters Gabby and Bec (famously known for creating the original Milgi's veggie restaurant on City Road,) have set up shop in the heart of the city, and we love it. Here, healthy whole-food lunchtime creations are whipped up right in front of you - think salad boxes packed full of flavour, marinated tofu sarnies and warming noodle soups, as well as these epic whole food lunches.

This cosy coffee shop is a beautiful hide out on Cardiff's high street. If the aroma didn't draw you in, then the raw red brick walls lit with hanging Edison bulbs creating a super cosy space just might tempt you! Their selection of sarnies, cakes, bakes and brownies makes it oh so easy to spend the day sinking in to Chesterfield sofas whilst sippin' away on some splendidly roasted coffee – just bliss.

Ffwrnes are two Llanelli boys who've kicked up a storm in the capital thanks to their creatively crafted, hand-thrown Neapolitan pizza. Its traditional stuff (not a rolling pin in sight) with a strong nod to Welsh heritage. Try the Jiawl Bach, a fired-up Diavola using Trealy Farm spicy salami – you'll know what we mean when we say it's hot! Already loved in Llanelli and craved in Cardiff, slice seekers further afield have started taking notice, too. Recently voted one of Wales' Top 3 purveyors of Pizza, Wriggle has a hunch that Ffwrnes are destined for all things big and all things tasty, and we're absolutely delighted that the gang have just opened their first permanent premises upstairs at the Cardiff Central Market.

Boasting a dazzling array of kaleidescopic salads, grilled cheese brunches, epiphany-inducing cake and perfectly poised coffee (roasted and shipped in from the caffeine cats at Plug Coffee out in Dinas Powys), this is a minimalist brunch-come-lunch gem that, although you've probably moseyed past a dozen times, you'll not want to miss again. Great service, food that is as gratifying as it is simple and an enviable city centre location: for brekkie or lunch in this part of town, you couldn't want anything more.
