Cardiff’s new kid on the block for caffeine addicts. This lovely little indie is owned by Chris Corner (handily for him, the café is also on a corner) and makes its own house blend. There are also guest coffees from people like Coalhouse Coffee and fresh bread delivered from Pettigrew Bakeries which is just down the road.
Where: 13 High Street, Cardiff CF10 1AX
We’re big fans of this this little corner of vintage cool in Cardiff Bay. Step inside, sink into a leather armchair and enjoy the perfect pourover. The cakes are incredible, too.

You don’t have to be small to come here but it is pretty cosy. The coffee’s good, the breakfast is brilliant (there’s a toast station with all the peanut butter and jam you could ask for) and there’s a beautiful bank vault downstairs. Great for meet-ups and meetings and at the weekly Scrabble evening you can also enjoy a tipple or two.

This Portugese bakery is perfect for pastries and also serves some of the best espresso in town. There are three cafes in Cardiff so there are ample opportunities to get your caffeine fix (and obligatory custard tart).

Meet Jamie, your new favourite barista. You’ll find him at farmers’ markets and pop-ups around Cardiff. Wrap up warm and sip on a hot coffee or try one of his delicious salted caramel lattes and peanut butter hot chocolate – vegan versions are available, too.
Where: Catch Jamie at the RCMA Farmers’ Markets every weekend. He’s in Roath on Saturdays and Riverside on Sundays.

It’s where Cardiff’s creatives come to work, play – and drink coffee. Pull up a pew and let the caffeine work its magic. We’re big fans of the breakfasts here as well.

This new branch of Milk and Sugar has recently opened upstairs at the Old Library and boy, is it a beautiful space. It’s an ideal place for a catch-up, business meeting or for just getting some work done and the coffee is guaranteed to keep you going. Owner Tim’s a very friendly guy, too.
