Sushi Burritos @ Poké (Centre)

With this Wriggle, you will enjoy any sushirrito roll – a glorious hybrid of the fresh, clean, satisfying tastes and textures of sushi and the comforting familiarity of the burrito. You'll also enjoy a tasty portion of crispy corn tortilla nachos, and you'll wash it all down with Poké's signature green tea.

Curry or Banh Mi @ Rollin Vietnamese (Broadmead)

Close enough for a quick-smart working lunch but a million miles from Broadmead's uneasy rows of identikit Pret-a-who-now's, Star-yucks and soul-sapping supermarket chains, the independent arcade's newest foodie resident - Rollin' Vietnamese - has been filling tummies and putting smiles on faces since late 2017. Expect delectably fresh Pho, Banh Mi and Goi Cuon bowls - all made to the same authentic street-food recipes that owner Kevin Ha enjoyed since childhood in Vietnam.

Lunch @ Harbour & Browns (Cargo 2)

Choose any main dish from their already immeasurably reasonable (and super-satisfying) lunch menu, add a generous helping of hand-cut chips (it's winter, so stock up on those cuddly-carbs... just to be safe) and cosy up to any skandi-cool pugh of your choosing to tuck in. After a recommendation? Team Wriggle are massive fans of H&B's decadent 3 cheese Macaroni and their succulent Grilled Chicken Sandwich.

Scandi Feasting @ Dela (Easton)

Quite possibly Wriggle's favourite opening of 2017. Dela means to ‘share’ in Swedish, and owners Mike and Lara have created a place that's all about spending time sharing food and eating together. With its big light space (in the downstairs of an Easton art studio) it's a lovely place to while away time over top-notch Scandi food.

Dinner for £5 @ West Street Kitchen (Old Market)

West Street Kitchen combines Nathan's experience in the coffee world, with Millie's baking skills. Their produce is largely sourced from their home in the Forest of Dean (just outside Bristol) - supplemented by local craft beers for the early evening trade - and turned into a revolving selection of delicacies (on the menu when we visited was a hearty home-cooked Meatball Sandwich and a French Toastie - a West-Street creation of mozzarella omelette, roasted mushrooms, and fresh tomatoes between slices of spiced eggy bread).

Lunchtime Buddha Box @ Gopals Curry Shack (Cargo 2)

Grab yourself a Buddha box this lunchtime - a warming, colourful Indian meal - along with a handmade Samosa from the lovely ladies at Gopal's Curry Chack at Wapping Wharf, and you'll quickly forget that it's winter outside. For the Buddha box, expect a flavoursome coconut & red lentil dhal with Basmati rice, Jaipur slaw, pickled veg, mango & lime dressing and some delicious toppings (crispy chickpeas, sweet potato crisps, a swirl of minty yoghurt, coriander, red onion and pomegranate). You'll get a homemade Samosa, too - think delicious pastry parcels stuffed with Punjabi spiced potatoes and peas.

Dinner for two @ Thali (Montpelier)

Wriggle on over to the bohemian, community-centred Thali in Montpelier and enjoy any two traditional thalis for as-near-as-damn-it half price. Wowzers. But what exactly is a Thali, we hear you cry? Well, for those of you who dread being asked for your food order (because limiting yourself to a single choice is amongst the hardest jobs in the world) a thali is a gift from the culinary gods: a traditional Indian feast including loads of different dishes.
