This is not just another burger place... Lucien Gordon of Patty and Bun fame in London has come back to Bristol and opened on Park Row. Heavy on the Bristol and South American influence, he is serving those burgers pink & juicy, using organic, high welfare beef and topped with West Country cheese. The patties are cooked on a proper wood fired grill for that sought after, char grilled taste. Veggies are catered for too, check out their buttermilk fried pepper burger, it's something different! As a delicious added treat, they make their own habanero hot sauce and mayo in house and my goodness it's packed with flavour. We tried to get the recipe out of Lucien but he wasn't budging.

Ciao Burger is a bit of a Gloucester Road legend. The small takeaway burger bar with enough seating for about 8 if you breathe in has been saving us from hunger pangs for years. Offering no gimmicks, this place gives you what you want: a good, meaty burger, chips and dips. Their unique branding gives them a cool edge without feeling like they're trying too hard to appeal and their big, colourful menu offers you all you could want - from a humble cheese burger to the ever popular stacked Rodeo burger. What really makes these guys stand out though, are the sides and dips on offer. Charlie in the office is a chicken nugget fiend and ranks these guys pretty up there, especially dunked in their punchy garlic mayo. You can find reggae reggae sauce, blue cheese mayo and even veggie spring rolls. Get your dip on!

Pioneers of Bristol's vegan food scene, the lovely folk at Cafe Kino have been serving up delicious healthy food in Stokes Croft since 2004. After starting out as a pop-up way back in 1996, their popularity has brought them to their current base in trendy Stokes Croft. It is through these art filled streets that vegan food lovers roam to get their mitts on Kino's fresh local grub. From falafel platters to their 'Kino' muesli made with toasted coconut, fig, and sultanas - there is something for everyone, whatever your appetite. Cafe Kino is the perfect creative hang-out to sit back, watch the world go by, and enjoy the hustle and bustle of Stokes Croft through their floor to ceiling windows. Make sure to check out the work of local artists that they display proudly on their walls - you might get inspired! They also have an events space downstairs, so keep your eyes peeled for quirky workshop listings such as weekly life-drawing sessions. As a worker's co-op, Cafe Kino is run collectively, meaning that all money made by the co-op goes back into improving the cafe for customers and staff! As if they aren't amazing enough, these guys use local and organic produce and suppliers, such as Brian Wogan Coffee and family-run Four Seasons Organic for their fresh fruit and veg.

The guys behind The Ox, the Milk Thistle and Pata Negra have turned their hands to something a little bit summery – and boy have they nailed it. Bambalan is a dreamy rooftop bar and restaurant that overlooks the heart of Bristol. Think fresh and healthy food: their dips and flatbreads are unreal – beautifully coloured smooth hummus, spiced beetroot, labneh and baba ganoush, contrasted with the flagship Rotisserie Chicken. Quality local beers and a range of soothing drinks are served, along with cocktails by the jug. This is perfect for a sunny day. Oh, and there's al-fresco table-tennis.

La Yaya serve up traditional Spanish tapas that will warm your heart and satisfy your stomach. The properly authentic Spanish dishes were inspired by the chef’s grandmother – the eponymous YaYa. Six years ago, Paco left everything behind and started a new life in Bristol searching for growth and new knowledge, not knowing that during his trip to Bristol he would find a special place to share his culture and passion. La YaYa was born thanks to his grandmother who taught him to love and cook with his heart – and now you can indulge.

Of Ex Steam Fame, Leon of Salt Street is bringing Latin American feasting to St Michael's Hill and beyond! Focusing on great ingredients, Salt Street created a banging taco menu, just for our delight. Imagine soft taco shells, stuffed with marinated meats, delicate toppings, crispy veggies and oh so delicious! Despite the Cuban influence, Salt Street are sourcing what they can locally, think pork marinated in local beer, chicken from nearby farms etc. Not only is the food going to be fantastic (keep an eye out for the frickles, fried pickles!) the location is a good one. The Robin Hood is a cosy pub bursting with charm and a fantastic selection of craft beer!
