Over in one of Wriggle’s favourite indy food zones, Cargo 2, there’s a brand new Japanese Bar and restaurant that’s gotten us Bristolians quite excited.

Seven Lucky Gods is the latest venture from the team behind Hyde & Co, The Ox, Pata Negra, Bambalan and The Milk Thistle (who also happen to have just been named one of the best cocktail bars in the UK).

With inspiration from the izakaya bars of Tokyo combined with the team’s extensive mixology knowledge, the cocktail menu is absolutely stellar, there’s even a cocktail named after each of the Seven Lucky Gods, obvs. In the summer months, you can enjoy a specially curated cocktail or ice-cold draught Ashai on, wait for it … their 50 capacity roof terrace! Yep, you’ll know where to find us this summer.

The all-day diner’s menu features Japanese-style tapas, bento boxes - to eat in or grab and go, and made to order sushi. After a successful launch in May, the new eatery has already been receiving rave reviews and looks set to o-fish-ally be one of the best sushi spots in town.
