This week, we're shining our bright, foodventuring light on one of Bristol's most thriving foodie hotspots: Bedminster. Earn double rewards points at the area's best indies, all week long.

What's happening?

It's simple: this week, you'll earn double rewards points every time you book a Wriggle at one of Bedminster's amazing indie venues. When you've earned enough points, you can redeem them for Wriggle credit to spend at any of our partner restaurants, pubs, cafes and street food stalls, all around Bristol.

What do I need to do?

Nothing; the points will be applied to your account automatically, just like normal – only this time, there'll be twice as many of them!

Sounds cool – how do I find out how many points I'll earn?

Before you book each Wriggle, you can see exactly how many rewards points you'll earn for it, written above the price of the Wriggle.

Neat! How do I find out how many points I've already earned with Wriggle?

Simple: just click here to check your points balance

Awesome – what venues are on Wriggle in Bedminster?

Smoke & Glaze have brought Southern and Creole cuisine to Bristol and Bristol can't get enough of it! Having cut their teeth running pop-ups around the city, including at The Old Bookshop and more recently The Pipe and Slippers, these guys are looking forward to getting back to their roots with smaller plates, bowls of steaming hot gumbo and of course plenty of their legendary burgers. The food is full of love here, meat is tender and treated with respect as well as vegan and veggie options being more than just an afterthought. Spices are liberally added and if you have a chance to try their pineapple chilli sauce, you better! The Windmill Pub they will be popping up in is a glorious mix of old and new, with beaten up leather sofas, tasty beers on the bar and plenty of board games, nooks, crannies and a wee garden to enjoy when the weather behaves.

The Bristol Beer Factory Tap Room relives its purpose as part of the old brewery that originally started in 1865. Fast forward over 150 years to the present day, and you can now relax in the Tap Room with a BBF beer, brewed only a few yards from where you sit. How cool is that?! The beers themselves are as delicious as they come; there's a whole range of styles and specials included in the current lineup. Today, inside BBF's cool, contemporary Tap Room you can indulge in a selection of up to 16 dangerously drinkable ales from cask, keg or bottle - perfect for trying a little bit of what you fancy, a lazy lunchtime pint or as your weekend kick starter.

Pizza is the name of the game in this extremely stylish operation – expect 100% sourdough bases with no added yeast, slowly risen over 30 hours, resulting in an incredibly light and delicious dough – topped with homemade tomato sauce using San Marzano tomatoes, finest Italian cheeses and extra virgin olive oil. Now that Pizza Workshop have nailed pizza, they’ve also added ‘Bocca’ to their repertoire: essentially a pizza sandwich, made from the same sourdough, baked in the oven and served piping hot and oozing with cheese. Wash it all down with some local craft beer, soft drinks or well priced wine.

It wasn't long ago that this little corner shop was stuffed full of second-hand publications and shelves of Dickens. Today, The Old Bookshop has managed to retain its stylishly dated quirks from years past, while becoming one of Bristol's top food ventures. Everything here is ramped up to the nines, from the eclectic hodgepodge of antique musical instruments and disconcerting taxidermy, to the menu of modern small plates, the seductive bar, and the mixed bag of live music. And despite the razzle-dazzle, it's not all show here. Having been crowned Bristol's Best Bar at the Bristol Life Awards 2017 - these guys are standing their ground at the forefront of Bristol's buzzing bar scene.

The North Street Standard is the second offering from the team behind the Urban Standard. Like it's older brother, it takes inspiration from the industrial-chic feel of New York's Lower East Side, with its effortlessly cool, understated space making it the perfect place to call in for a coffee, a three-course meal, and everything in between. The menu moves away from the well-worn burger and chips combos, and while this classic favour combo can still be relished, don't be too quick to overlook the selection of small plates. Lip-smacking dishes such as salt cod croquettes, or chicken wings in spicy Creole-style sauce are really addictive, and might be enough to tempt you away from the patty-in-a-bun for good. Oh, and a word to the wise – the Mac 'n' Cheese is famous for VERY good reason.
