There’s a food market on almost every day of the week in Bristol, each offering something unique and delicious, so whether you’re looking for a quick pitstop lunch, some international delicacies or a weekend wander, we’ve got you covered with our handy street food guide…

St Nicholas Market

Situated in the heart of the Old City, St Nicks Market and The Corn Exchange were established in 1743 and have been a central trading hub for Bristol ever since. Nowadays, however, you’ll find a lot more tasty things on offer than just corn. Street food vendors in the glass arcade whip up mouth watering bites from all four corners of the world, from Portuguese paella to Moroccan Tagines. Home to a number of Bristol favourites including Eat-a-Pitta, Matina, Woky Ko and Pieminister, St Nicks is perfect for a grab and go lunch when that meal deal just isn’t hitting the spot!

When: Monday to Saturday 09:30 - 17:00
Where: The Corn Exchange, BS1 1JQ

Harbourside Market

Combining Bristol’s best street eats with one of the city’s most scenic spots, The Harbourside Market transforms the waterfront into a festival of street food, no less than four days a week! The line-up changes regularly and features local legends including grilled cheese gurus For Mice and Men, Turkish kebab connoisseurs Murray May’s and vegan comfort food champions Kabala Kitchen. Finger’s crossed their bar and DJ’s will be returning soon, too, to really get the party started.

When: Wednesday & Thursday 12:00 - 14:30 and Saturday & Sunday 11:00 - 16:00
Where: Canon’s Road, BS1 5TX

Wine Street Market

The Old City is home to countless markets throughout the year and every Tuesday and Friday the Wine Street Market plays host to a selection of Bristol’s finest street food traders. From Japanese to Indian, British to Thai, you’re sure to find some firm favourites alongside more unusual eats from traders including Pippin’s Doughnuts, Enggi’s Kitchen and Indian Masala.

When: Tuesday & Friday 11:00 - 14:30
Where: Wine Street, BS1 2BQ

Bristol Farmers and Producers Market

An award-winning market offering the opportunity to buy fresh produce directly, Bristol Farmers and Producers Market has a wide range on offer from fruit and veg to bread, cheeses and pies. There are usually around 15 traders including Pullins bakery, Elm Tree farm and Oven to You, all of whom are always up for an in-depth chat about their wares.

When: Wednesday 09:30 - 14:30
Where: Corn Street, BS1 1JQ

Whiteladies Road Market

Whiteladies Road Market is reminiscent of the more traditional farmers' markets of days gone by, with a core aim of bringing seasonal, organic provisions to the people of Bristol. The market is run entirely by volunteers from Sustainable Redland, and strives to connect local producers to local people, keeping food miles and plastic packaging to an absolute minimum. Head down Saturday morning to stock up on fruit and veg, meat, cheese, bread, fish and more.

When: Saturday 08:30 - 13:00
Where: on the junction of Whiteladies & Apsley Road, BS8 2ST

Temple Quay Market

Situated in the heart of Bristol’s business district, Temple Quay Market is on hand every Thursday to break up the monotony of packed lunches for office workers in the area. Traders rotate weekly and offer a wide array of international food including South Indian street food from The Mango Hub, Jamaican rice and peas from Agnes Spencer and NYC salt beef from Spengler’s Deli. The market is scaled back for the time being, but still well worth a visit if you’re hungry for something to spice up your lunch break!

When: Wednesday 11:30 - 14:00
Where: Temple Quay, BS1 6EA

Finzels Reach Market

Every Friday visitors to the up-and-coming Finzels Reach can expect to find locally produced food cooked from scratch by some of the South West’s most exciting street food traders. Guest traders are invited to keep things fresh and seasonal and will pop-up alongside a rotating roster of vendors including Tasty Ragga, Niang’s Thai and Ah-Ma's Dumplings. Finzels Reach Market will also be celebrating their 4th birthday on June 18th 2021, so head down for funky tunes, free giveaways and retro 70’s inspired specials!

When: Wednesday and Friday 11:00 - 14:00
Where: Old Temple Street, BS1 6LQ

Tobacco Factory Market

Self-proclaimed as the “best way to spend a Sunday”, the Tobacco Factory yard is transformed every week into an outdoor market with street food stalls, producers and artisan makers from Bristol and beyond. Get down early for a pastry and coffee from Farro bakery and peruse the stalls full of handmade products and provisions and grab a bite to eat from one of the many delicious food traders. You should also check out Tobacco Factory’s own Five Acre Farm kitchen who will gladly fill your own lunchbox or container in a bid to reduce plastic waste. Haven’t got a lunchbox? Why not treat yourself to one of our very own beautiful bamboo ones!

When: Sunday 10:00 - 14:30
Where: Tobacco Factory Yard, BS3 2AA

Bristol Eats @ Paintworks

Not a street food market per se, but definitely worth checking out, Paintworks has converted three iconic Airstreams into a pop-up kitchen and café with a daily changing food offering from Bristol Eats (aka the OG street food market). Alex Does Coffee has made a permanent home out of two of the Airstreams, whilst you can find the likes of Momo Bar, The Smoked Vegan, Peckers and Gopal’s Curry Shack dishing up tasty treats out of the other. Check out the Bristol Eats socials to find out who will be trading each week.

When: Monday to Friday 11:30 - 14:30
