The Bristol Whisky Festival is returning to Bristol for its fourth year, bringing its unique brand of relaxed and informal Whisky tasting to Colston Hall. In attendance will be some of the finest distilleries from all over the world, including Talisker, The Boutique-y Whisky Company and even Mackmyra, hailing all the way from Sweden.

Exclusively for Wrigglers, we’ve teamed up with The Whisky Lounge to offer very special tickets. The Whisky Lounge team love Bristol and the welcome they get (watch this space - they’re lining up plenty more events this year as well!), so are offering Wrigglers 3 hours entry (between 2pm and 5pm) for only £10, instead of the usual £20. This includes the chance to swoop in and try over 100 whiskies, over 50 other spirits and liqueurs, entry to the festival, a Glencairn tasting glass, a bottle of water (for obvious purposes) and a Festival Guide. Whilst there’s a plethora of whiskies to sample as part of the tickets - don’t forget to bring your wallet and try a few “under the counter” drams, too. These will be rare and exclusive whiskies you would struggle to get your hands on otherwise.

Excelling at making whisky accessible to all, the team at The Whisky Lounge encourage patrons to use their time not only to try the drams on offer, but ask the distilleries themselves questions about the whisky-making process, suggestions on how to drink it and anything else that pops into your head. Each stall is manned by an expert who knows their drink inside-out and is there to educate everyone from the novice to expert about the iconic drink. The Whisky Lounge is all about breaking down barriers, dispelling the myths (yes you can put water in your whisky, and sometimes it’s actively encouraged!) and allowing people to just enjoy the drink without feeling overwhelmed or under-educated.

For those who just can’t get past the amber burn, the festival team will provide a cocktail corner, great for those that want to learn but can’t partake. For newbies to whisky or those wanting to hone their tastebuds, there will be a whisky creche to guide you through the different blends and tasting notes on offer. Also, there will be a blending lab for those that want to learn the art of the blend, working with industry experts to make their own blending whisky and everyone is in with the chance for winning the coveted “best blend of the fest” award.

The Whisky Lounge run tasting workshops, events and even trips all through the year, with plenty planned in Bristol for 2017, so keep an eye out for other happenings!
