Every Friday & Saturday: Gin Tasting @ The Rummer | £25
Hidden away down a picturesque back street in Bristol's Georgian-era arcade is the Rummer Hotel. Whilst its main trade is the excellent hotel and bar, underneath it's home to a secret micro-distillery that makes Bristol Dry Gin. Of course, it's not a secret any more as they now do gin tasting events every Friday and Saturday where you get to taste not only their own gin, but also gins from four other local Bristol gin producers. A proper taste of Bristol.
Every Saturday: Wiper and True Brewery Tour | £16.50
One of Bristol's best-loved brewers, Wiper and True have decided to let people see where the magic happens in their St Werburghs' brewery. You'll get to see the end to end brewing process which has gained the guys such a large reputation, hear about the W+T history, sample an exclusive beer that they only serve there, and grab a takeaway bottle. Be rude not to grab a few more for the road as well.
Every Saturday: Croft Ales Brewery Tour | £12
Hidden down a side street in Stokes Croft is the unassuming Croft Ales Brewery who are serving up some tasty, tasty beers for thirsty Bristolians. As well as being a buzzing bar at the weekend, they also offer a really good tour of their facilities with the added bonus of being able to polish off four of their concoctions afterwards. Lush.
Brew brains rejoice!This is a fun and informal tour where you'll discover the ins and outs of a working brewery– and also meet fellow beer enthusiasts from the city. The tour takes about thirty minutes, and afterwards you'll get to enjoy some properly tasty drinks - three 1/3 pints – fresh from the tank! Staying open til late, the taproom is the perfect place to chill and sip a few bevvies that aren't available anywhere else in the world. The Moor Beer Company are UK pioneers of unfined beers, meaning that all their beer has been vegan friendly for over a decade - impressive!
With this Wriggle, you'll be sitting down to some seriously stylish Sunday afternoon tea, served up with a crisp, sparkling glass of prosecco to get you feeling fancy. Included in the dreamy afternoon tea spread are: a fresh finger sandwich selection, homemade cakes and cream tea style scones, strawberries and local jam, all served with a pot of freshly brewed, loose leaf Cox and Baloney tea.
September 14th - 16th: The Bristol Craft Beer Festival | £40
Bristol Craft Beer Festival brings together the best of Bristol's breweries along with the most creative beers from the rest of the UK and around the world. This festival showcases what puts Bristol at the forefront of the worldwide craft beer scene - it's creativity and independent spirit. With representation from Wild Beer Co, Wiper & True, Lost & Grounded, Left Handed Giant and many more still to be announced - it really is time to hail the ale! On Thursday 27th September Hyde & Co will be hosting a night of all things bourbon at and for just £20 you can join them for a welcome cocktail on arrival, a tutored tasting from Wild Turkey’s expert brand ambassadors and a flight of whiskies from the range.
On Thursday 27th September The Milk Thistle will be joined by the team from Silent Poolwho’ll be introducing you to their impressive range of artisan spirits. For just £20 you'll be treated to a Silent Pool G&T, as well as two specially created cocktails, alongside the usual light nibbles and a tutored tasting of the range and the opportunity to ask The Milk Thistle team and the experts from Silent Pool all of your burning Gin questions. Averys will be showcasing 50 different wines from around the world in an informal, walk-around tasting, which will allow you to sample the wines at your leisure, whilst learning more about how the wine is made by talking to the Averys team. Each table will be manned by an Averys specialist, and the tastings are designed for people of all levels of wine knowledge, from the beginner with a thirst for knowledge to the expert with a cellar full of wine looking for the next big thing.
For this tasting you'll be pitching the best of the New World (Americas, Australia, New Zealand) up against the best from the Old World(Europe). The wines will battle it out over 4 rounds to see who will be the overall victor – be prepared to leave history and what you might think you know about wine at the cellar door!
December 1st: Christmas Highlights – A Tutored Tasting of 8 Wines with paired Cheeses | £15
This event is a seated tutored tasting of eight different wines, complete with specially selected cheeses from the Arch House Deli. Each wine will be explained by Averys' wine enthusiast, and these tastings are designed for people of all levels of wine knowledge, right from the beginner with a thirst for knowledge to the expert with a cellar full of wine looking for the next big thing.

English Wine Tasting Cycling Tour | £40
For something a little different, why not focus your attention on the great wine that's grown and produced around England? Sample award-winning English wines whilst enjoying picturesque backdrops of Bristol and Somerset. Did we mention you'll be on your bike? Don't worry, Bristol has one of the most extensive car-free cycle networks in the country so you'll be plodding along flat cycle paths with beautiful scenery. Can't get better than that.
