Never has there been a city more apt for a week long celebration of local beer. Get ready to go hopping mad from today (24th August) until Sunday 2nd September at thirty of the very best pubs, bottle shops and restaurants in Brighton.

Brighton & Hove Beer Week, is all about the venues and the breweries that bring great beer to the city every day. Each participating venue will be organising events, collaborations and happenings throughout the week in order to showcase the very best in beer and brewing from the Sussex area. Amongst the beer big bitters such as The Basketmakers Arms and Brighton Bierhaus are some relative newcomers such as Idle Hands.

The party kicks off this Friday with a North Laine x Carnival Collective collaboration. A live performance from the 25 piece brass band and 3 unique beers from Laine Brew Co, Unbarred, Kiln & Dark Star. Curry Leaf Cafe’s Lanes Café will have an extra-special beer menu throughout the week showcasing what they believe to be some of the best breweries from in and around Sussex. Each beer will be carefully paired with their amazing street food and curries allowing you to enhance your meal with local brews. Wriggle friends BeFries are also hosting two bespoke events, one is a celebration and debate on Belgian beer with fries, sampling sauces and a selection of Belgian favourites. The other is a discussion of Craft beer in the UK accompanied by some fine brews, fries and sauce samples. There are 60+ events to choose from so there really is something to cure every ale-ment.

This is about world-class beer served where it should be: in the pubs, bars, restaurants and bottle shops that bring it to you all year round. And it’s about a whole heap more than that – because this is Brighton & Hove, and we know how to throw a party. Some individual events are ticketed but there’ll be no wristbands, lanyards, or central beer tent. It’s just you and a whole city full of great beer to explore and enjoy.
