There’s a few reasons why Wriggle love the sushi at Cardiff Bay’s Yakitori #1 – their fish is stunningly fresh and someone in the kitchen knows what they’re doing with a knife. Sashimi platters are an exercise in precisely executed simplicity whilst maki rolls are beautifully decorated with bright orange fish roe and seaweed fronds. But, it’s not just the sushi at this modern Japanese canteen which is worth checking out. Soba noodles are loaded with plenty of meat (unlike that well known chain place), vegetable tempura is served in the lightest of batters and golden gyoza are stuffed with fragrant fillings. In an area which is dominated by chain restaurants, Yakitori #1 is a beacon of quality independence.
Tasty food and lovely service.
Brilliant food and customer service was first class.
Great place to eat the food is always fabulous
The noodles were great, although a bit oily. Not much choice of drink on the day I was there: only regular coke and water
Once again, top quality!
All of the food was absolutely amazing - so tasty, hot and fresh. I hadn't tried the lemon drink before but it was absolutely delicious. There was a really relaxed atmosphere which was perfect for a Sunday night and the staff were very attentive. I would thoroughly recommend this place - one of the best places to eat down Cardiff Bay!
