Why we love it?

With their devotion to sourcing the world’s best teas, Waterloo Tea have been consistently raising the bar for Cardiff’s cafe scene since they first opened in Penylan in 2008. Whilst they’ve expanded to the city centre’s attractive Wyndham Arcade and to Penarth, there’s been no let-up in quality. Loose leaf teas come with a timer so you know how long it takes to brew the perfect cup, whilst coffee is made using beans from some of the best roasters around – including James and HasBean. Waterloo’s determination to seek out the best from around the world extends into to their globally-influenced food which features dishes spiced with sumac, za’tar and dukkah.

Wriggle Highlights
  • The tea, duh – the clue’s in the name
  • The eclectic cake selection including courgette and lime and chocolate and beetroot
  • Breakfasts are served with Alex Gooch’s award winning sourdough

“Waterloo Tea is committed to an ongoing exploration of the world's finest teas, and them being brewed to perfection. More than just tea, Waterloo also has a strong focus on coffee with its current espresso being a single origin from El Salvador”
