Known (and rightly revered) until recently as the legendary Urban Taphouse, Tiny Rebel Cardiff is a pantheon of powerfully-hopped pintage and craftily-bottled beers. Nestled in the magnificent shadow of Cardiff's cathedral and chapel of Rugby (the towering Millennium Stadium and diminutive Cardiff Arms Park, respectively), this not-so-tiny redbrick cube is where those who believe in a beerier-brew really go to church.
Exuding heritage, ambition and independence, Tiny Rebel Cardiff is as Welsh as the boys plying their trade on the pitches adjacent. And they have a strength of identity to match. Conceived in a garage in Newport in 2008 and with imaginations fired-up through retro computer games, 90's urban culture and a desire to break from the status-quo, these home-brew tearaways now have their very own brewery. And a stable of boundary-pushing craft beers which, since 2012, have been winning national awards for fun. And a scruffy-as-you-like, world beater of a mascot (the Tiny Rebel Bear). Not bad going.
Visit either of their two bars (in Cardiff and Newport), and expect a selection of outstanding indie beers from a myriad of Craft Breweries, a bounty of slow-cooked temptation (we recommend their down-and-dirty burgers or hot-and-messy pizzas) and a properly tidy time.
Best venue in Cardiff.
Always great food and tasty pints.
Great food and beer
I ordered the tofu burger and it was nice but overdone enough that I left the edges. However, I've had their pizza before and found it perfect so perhaps it was a one-off mistake.
Excellent venue with great atmosphere and vibe. Lovely beer!
Lovely staff and great mixture of vegan, gluten free, and standard pub fare
