Why we love it

Croeso, welcome to the Pitch Bar & Eatery. It's fiercely independent, passionate about delivering simple, honest, modern Welsh food. They make a real effort to seek the best, most mouth-watering ingredients that can be found locally from farmers, growers, makers and markets, fusing them together to create innovative flavours and fresh, vibrant, sumptuous dishes; putting their passion for your palate on a plate.

Open from breakfast 'till cocktails daily, every dish they serve is lovingly handmade with heart from their beautiful spot on Mill Lane. Expect an array of traditional Welsh cuisine using locally-sourced produce, with the kitchen whipping up a selection of brunches, light snacks and small plates, plus a host of meaty grills including 8oz steaks. The restaurant also hosts cocktail masterclasses – be sure to bag a spot.

Delicious food, and stoked to see Sriracha hot sauce available. Friendly staff and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Adding Welsh rarebit to a burger is something I will now demand from every establishment I patronise in future.

The cocktails were fantastic

Excellent service by friendly and helpful staff. Good portions of meat to share. Both the chicken and topside were delicious and beautifully cooked. The gravy was divine. The carrots and broccoli were cooked perfectly. The issues we had were with the size and quality of the Yorkshire puddings (Aunt Bessie's we assumed - not good enough!), and the number of roast potatoes (2 small pieces of potato each plus a few boiled new potatoes). An extra vegetable would not have gone amiss e.g. cauliflower or even peas. It would also have been nice to have the option of cauliflower cheese on the side as an extra. The cheesecake was yummy, and the coffee was the best I've had in years! We were seated upstairs as it was full downstairs at about 1.20. This was great because it was quieter and less hot. Note for those with mobility problems - there are a lot of steep steps internally, including down to the loos.

Nice vibe, cosy on a gloomy autumn day.

Great sunny spot.

One of the best sunday roasts you'll find and the service was excellent.
