The New York adage "If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere" could apply to a lot of places on City Road – a road teeming with dining-out and takeaway options. Yet New York Diner stands out from the crowd. First of all, it is undoubtedly slick – subway-style tiling on the bars and entrance, attractive wooden tables, brown worn-leather seating booths and (we love this touch) a table made from a giant Illmatic tape (a nod to owner Shaz's eye for detail and background in the music industry).
The burgers are ace too. Juicy and tender and piled-high – all customisable with some top-notch homemade sauces prepared by their Brazilian Chef. The Empire Stack being a Wriggle favourite. But they're not just about burgers – with a strong all-day offering (check-out their all-day steak breakfast for a hearty feed) and good strong coffee.
