Nata & Co bring the Portuguese spirit to Cardiff with their trio of bakeries on Castle Street, Bute Street (Cardiff Bay) and Clifton Street (Adamsdown). If Portuguese baking is known for one thing it’s the pastel de nata and unsurprisingly, Nata & Co’s is an absolute bobby dazzler. Crisp layers of golden pastry contain a wobbly sweet custard filling with a lightly charred top. It’s a thing of beauty and made even more so washed down with a cup of strong Portuguese coffee. But, there’s more to Nata than their natas. Salt cod fritters, custard donuts, chorizo flecked bread and laden toasted sandwiches are just some of the other items which make a visit worthwhile any time of day, be it for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack or post-afternoon snack snack.
The staff is very friendly and care about their customers. I had a terrible cold and they prepared me a special tea to help me feel better. I really appreciated the gesture.
Lovely toastie, coffee was also available as part of the offer which was nice given how cold it's been outside! Friendly staff and would always go back for the famous tarts.
Excellent food and service as always
Good toastie and nice choice of fruit drink. Those custard tarts though...the best I've tasted anywhere.
Fantastic coffee and tart
