Hakan Sir (Co-founder of Lezzet Turkish Kitchen) came to the UK with the utmost intention of sharing his favourite Turkish dishes. And after making his home in Wales, Hakan joined forces with his long-term business partner and friend Bulent Eroglu to open the Lezzet Turkish Kitchen right in the heart of Cardiff.
The Lezzet Turkish Kitchen has certainly realised Hakan’s vision. It serves a whole range of authentic Turkish eats in its relaxed venue adorned with Turkish lamps, artwork and an Evil Eye stamped on the doomed wood-fire oven. The menu is a bountiful feast of Middle Eastern treats, including flame grilled meat skewers kebabs and mezze dishes with fresh falafel, hummus and a mix of salads. Our particular favourite is the Turkish Pide: a flatbread, baked in their woodfired oven and topped with a variety of ingredients (including cheese, meats, and vegetables). There’s always a special or two on too; on our last visit, we enjoyed a stack of lamb chops on a bed of hummus and served with a medley of buttered seasonal vegetables.
There’s plenty of opportunities to treat your sweet tooth soon. From crispy Baklava and rich Kadaif, there’s a whole bunch of freshly prepared Turkish sweet bites to jump into. Enjoy them with a cup of Turkish tea for the full experience.
They’ve married their food with impeccable service and a friendly atmosphere, making it a go to spot for any occasion. Be sure to check it out.
