For some of Cardiff’s most Instagram-worthy salads, look no further than this cafe in the heart of Pontcanna. Kemi’s is owned by, well, Kemi (a woman whose zest for life is evident in the food that she serves) and run by Patrick (with a heart of gold and a passion for fantastic food to match).
Fresh and seasonal fruit and vegetables are used to make interesting and unusual combinations that you’d never think of yourself. Examples include peach and daikon (that’s a type of radish to you and us), cauliflower tabbouleh with broad beans and apple, and rainbow chard with squash and figs. It’ll certainly give you food for thought. You’ll also find similarly delicious soups, wraps and cakes on the menu. Although meat is used selectively at Kemi's, their flagship salads are all veggie (and mostly vegan) and there's always a refreshing emphasis on the colourful, healthy and - of course - tasty potential of natural, meat-free food.
This little gem is a great place to work, chill out or simply to get some inspiration for your packed lunch. We wish Kemi, Patrick and Co could come and cook for us every day…
