Open since late 2016, Ffandangos is perhaps the most compelling reason yet that we should embrace all things purple.
An organic green grocery, purveyor of fine regional food, local delicatessen (stocked-to-bursting with goodies from Llanrwst's Blas ar Fwyd, Coaltown Coffee, Mario's Welsh icecream, Pettigrews' bread and Chilli of the Valley sauces) AND the new home of Bara Menyn (meaning "Bread & Butter" and, coincidentally, one of the finest breakfast-come-brunch pop-ups in the civilised universe), this Welsh-speaking emporium of expertly-selected tastiness is one you'll want to frequent again and again.
Ffandangos owner Dylan has gained a sizey following West of the Taff, and - since welcoming Bara Menyn owner Catrin to the fold after she upped sticks from Womanby Street - this little corner of Llandaff has had the great and good of Cardiff's foodie scene skipping the light Ffandango and turning cartwheels across the floor.
Rock up and you'll discover a genuinely community-centred vibe, service with a smile (in Welsh or English) and - thanks to Bara Menyn - a creative, colourful and decidedly bohemian all-day brekkie offering to make you go weak at the knees (the "Twist in the Tale" full Welsh Breakfast with Penclawdd cockles fritters or Buck Rarebit & Poached Egg Toasted Sourdough options are pretty unmissable).
