Why we love it

For healthy, tasty and mightily filling wok-tossed Asian street noodles - served lightning fast and piled high in proper cardboard takeaway boxes (like the ones you used to see on "Friends", just waaaay more turquoise) - Wok Boxstix in Broadmead is a solid in-and-out-shout.

Set adjacent to Bristol city centre's indie arcade, this two-storied stir-fry star focusses on delivering tasty, accessible wok boxes to a hungry, time-conscious crowd.

Arrive at lunchtime and you'll be vying for chop-sticks, sriracha sauce and elbow space with a small legion of office workers thronging around the wall-stools and micro-tables. Rock up in the evening and you'll have to duck and weave through an assembly of retail-therapy weary shoppers before landing your noodley quarry.

But with recipes garnered from owner Christina's favourite dishes in the hawker markets of Singapore and Malaysia - and a genuine indie emphasis on affordbalilty, convenience and great tasting noodles - it's definitely worth trying - even if you happen to arrive for some munch at the same time as the rest of Broadmead!

Highlights

Great for a speedy city-centre lunch
Shimmy up to the front window and people watch whilst slurping your ramen
Peek over the counter and see flames flying under the woks

Took my Mum here whilst Christmas shopping! - we both thoroughly enjoyed it - lots of choice, very tasty and very helpful staff, will definiately go back when in town shopping again.

Interesting concept - pick you bits and put them together. The food was average. Other noodle places do it better.

Horrible place! I choose beef which was disgusting, I was unable to eat it so all the beef went to the bin. Never again - I lost £5
