What can we say about Wilks that hasn't already been said? Launching in 2012, they quickly made their mark in Bristol with critics from across the country fawning over the restaurant's modern cuisine.
Only a year after launch, the Michelin Guide had recognised their work with a Michelin Star and they've retained it every year since. This is nothing new to head chef James Wilkins, who has worked at Michelin Star level throughout his career, most notably working at Laguiole - one of a small handful of restaurants to be awarded 3 Stars by the Michelin Guide.
His food is matched by the excellent and hard-working team around him. Christine (restaurant manager) and the front of house team are attentive and engaging whilst also stripping back the pomp that so many Michelin Star venues can fall foul of.
In a part of the city that's already known as a foodie hub, Wilks is the headline act. And rightly so.
