If you want to venture out of Bristol, for a Sunday Roast, and maybe a cheeky walk first to summon up your appetite, then look no further. Set on the Easterly edge of Blagdon, around 30 minutes' drive from Bristol, the Queen Adelaide is a traditional pub where you'll get a warm welcome - and a fantastic carvery on a Sunday, laden with all Sunday-Roast goodness you could want.
Landlord Dave Green will be preparing the food himself - and is particularly careful to cater for Gluten Free and Vegetarians, alongside the classic meat options.
For the ideal day out, park up by the lake and do a once-round (it's a brisk 1.5 - 2 hour walk) to build up a good appetite for your lunch.
A nice day out - enjoyed the walk (we did a full lap of the lake which turned out to be longer than we expected!!), and the carvery roast was excellent. Unfortunately on the day we were there they did not have the full menu or dessert selection as listed on the wriggle. We had no choice on dessert. Overall the food was great though and the venue was nice.
Beautifully cooked, this was the best Sunday roast I've had this year - plenty of it, too. Great service, nice local type inn with parking which made it an easy choice for an escape from the city.
Lovely home cooked roast in a proper country pub.
Lovely country pub
The perfect country pub to wind up in after a Sunday walk. Decent selection of cask ales from Butcombe and a very hearty carvery. Would definitely recommend taking a trip to Blagdon and stopping by.
Cosy pub in a beautiful part of the world. Food and drink were tip top.
