Situated in a prime waterside location close to where the city docks meet the River Avon, this acclaimed gastropub is housed in a former Victorian pumping station. Under the leadership of chef proprietor Toby Gritten, The Pump House provides a perfect destination for those in search of exquisite British food and quality drinks.
Everything is prepared on site, from bread to ice-cream. Fish and shellfish are delivered daily from the coast and meat sourced locally where possible, whilst many of the dishes feature ingredients foraged by the chefs themselves. Both menus evolve with the seasons and utilise the very best of the diverse ingredients the West Country has to offer.
The Pump House offers a wide selection of gins in a warm and welcoming bar area, with additional seating outside on the water, for those sunny evenings. Food is excellent (if a bit pricey) and the staff are knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. A great little spot for those based in the Greville Park end of Southville looking for a break away from Wapping Wharf, or residents of Hotwells.
