Being hidden away in a basement below The Commercial Rooms on Corn Street would be enough to finish off a lot of Bristol restaurants, yet The Ox has only gone from strength to strength among Bristolian steak lovers - and it isn’t the views from the windows that brings them back.
The Ox has paid attention to all elements of the dining experience with a vast range of stunning small plates, classic charcuterie, superb sides and, of course, delectable desserts to accompany their signature steaks.
But let’s talk beef. Expect a thick-cut steak which has been worked-on to extract as much flavour from it as possible – rich with caramelised crust and textured with tender, melting meat in the middle.
