The Last Word is a quirky cocktail bar and restaurant in the very heart of Clifton Village offering some of the most alluring cocktails in Bristol. Despite being a rather new establishment, there’s already a buzz of excitement lingering at its doors. Amongst the hums of chatter you’re sure to see a few trendy sorts casually swigging a dirty martini, or turning their hand to something equally as sophisticated. By the Last Word’s own admission, no afternoon is complete without a glass of bubbles and the prosecco afternoon tea here hits the mark with an array of sweet and savory treats. Zest and flair is not limited to the cocktails at the Last Word, though; breakfast, brunch and fresh salads add vibrance to any day. Those caught in an adventurous mood can even book to join the cocktail masterclass from 4-6pm everyday - once you’ve been trained by an expert team, you’ll fancy yourself the favourite at any dinner party.
Besides deliciously boozy drinks, the Last Word is also the perfect place for a romantic date night with delicious platters to share with your SO, or to enjoy a lovely afternoon tea with your nan - she deserves it after all. If you’re keen to spice things up, you’re covered with a plethora of artisan sharing boards. You can’t go wrong with grilled chorizo, pickled veggies, and sun dried tomatoes served with sourdough bread and decadently drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze. We can agree to disagree but if that’s not your thing; the grilled peppers stuffed with goats cheese mousse and topped with calamata dried black olives bruschetta crostini with mozzarella is a universal winner. We’re hungry just thinking about it!
The team at the Last Word are a cool bunch, super friendly and making sure you're having a great time: they're basically perfect, really.
Well made cocktails
Had the hot sharing platter and two glasses of good red wine that was delicious. The platter had pork belly, chicken, peppers and chorizo, carrot salad and a green salad. The owner is very friendly and the place has a very relaxed and classy feel to it. It was all amazing and will definitely be returning.
Loved the afternoon tea. The open sandwiches were unusual but delicious. Plenty of cakes to tempt us. Lovely glass of prosecco. Staff really friendly. Great afternoon tea, would definitely go back again. Its new so still not busy but I'm sure it won't take long to.
Very nice staff. Had a long wait for food and was given a free cocktail when we hadn't even complained. Great customer service
We were the only people in there on a Friday night but the staff were good and the atmosphere was great
