“We love good food, great coffee and warming tea – but most of all we love PEOPLE”. This is written on the wall of Station Kitchen, who are in business for two reasons: to create a warm and welcoming place for you to relax and enjoy great local food and drink, but also to give opportunities for young people (particularly those that have had to deal with difficult things in life) to volunteer, get work experience, train and eventually gain employment as chefs, baristas and front of house staff.
Owned and operated by the YMCA, this is an outstanding example of a not-for-profit community cafe which provides some of the best lunch, coffee and nibbles in Broadmead in the impressive surrounds of the attractive old Police Station building.
The food itself is highly recommended: an excellent local lunch spot and cafe, which serves popular cafe food and cracking burgers in a stylish, naturally lit environment. Everything on offer is veggie and vegan, with bold, flavourful dishes that everyone will enjoy.
Had a lovely Rainbow salad as usual, such a shame a nice place like that is closing it is so popular. Bit of luck it will be saved by some wealthy business person.
It’s a great establishment, however, due to funding The Station is closing at the end of September. This is a real shame!
Great value and delicious salad. Very sad that it's closing.
I didn’t go there but think it’s great they run the suspended hot drink service
Gonna eat here as much as possible before it shuts down!!
I love the station kitchen. So sad it's going!
