Amy studied fashion design womenswear at the London College of Fashion, graduating in 2010, and has been passionate about sewing and drawing since she was small and had dreamed of entering the world of design and making. Alongside this love of creativity she aspired to teach, and subsequently trained as a teacher of Textiles and Food Technology. These two pathways have led to expertise in the technical elements of design and making, and the ability to teach them too. At the heart of these two passions is Amy's interest in ethical and sustainable design, making and lifestyle which are united in the launch of Sew Darn Good.
Amy is a really great teacher and managed the group well giving everyone individual attention and tasks suitable for their level. She is generous and great at explaining complex things clearly. The atmosphere is lovely and she was very welcoming
My Mum and I have just done a wonderful one off sewing session with Amy. We learnt how to hem and how to alter an invisible zip. Amy gave everyone great attention and really clear instructions and she was very good and understanding each person's level. Welcoming, generous and a fun workshop! We'll definitely be back again!
This is a great little taster session. I definitely recommend bringing something in to work on.
Amy is really lovely and we had a great time making the cutlery holder and I even got tea and biscuits 🙂
Very informative workshop led by a very creative tutor
Excellent first week! Amy was very welcoming and friendly and we were able to start sewing straight away. Very pleased with the case I sewed and am excited for the rest of the course.
