The RWA is Bristol's first art gallery showcasing contemporary and historical artworks. It aims to inspire people from all backgrounds with creativity. Their exhibitions - set in some of the UK's most beautiful galleries - show work by contemporary artists alongside world-class historic art, creating a stimulating dialogue between past and present.
The exhibition programme includes a variety of shows, which appeal to all tastes from historic paintings to digital and new media and including painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture. The RWA has its own collection of fine art, which it displays in exhibitions throughout the year, definitely go check it out!
The RWA is a charity and receives only 1.5% of its funding from the public purse.
The Royal West if England is an incredibly beautiful space, I was there for the Fire: Flashes to Ashes exhibition and I really enjoyed it and would recommend.
