A real, family-run Nepalese affair tucked away in the unassuming locale of Frogmore Street, serving carefully chosen plates with poise and harmony. This close to the beating heart of Bristol, Namaste’s up-to-date take on traditional Himalayan effortlessly carries you to far away high-altitude sierras (or, at least, the nearby summit of Brandon Hill park). Hearty, authentic Nepalese specialities and Indian favourites are the order of the eve, all served amidst wall mounted Himalayan vistas and a welcoming atmosphere of lilting music and incense.
Although none of the dishes are ever in danger of sacrificing subtlety or satisfaction for a lofty Scoville score, there’s still enough spice around to keep heat-lovers honest. Veggies and vegans are well catered for too, with a diverse (but not overwhelming) menu that’s as easy on the palate as it is on the wallet. After a recommendation? Team Wriggle can't get enough of the Dal Bhat: A simple, supremely tasty and filling Nepalese Thali tailored to the tastes of veggies and meat-eaters alike. Namaste, Wriggler – we think you're going to enjoy this one.
