Ickle serves up a cornucopia of curries, stews, and other delicious culinary fusions inspired by cuisines from around the world. From Monday to Friday at the Southern end of Victoria Street (just off the main road and shaded from the mid-day sun by a couple of gigantic leafy trees), owner Jordan delights office workers and peckish passers-by with some of the finest curries, spiced broths and batch-cooked-treats this fine city has to offer. It's a bonafide blink-and-you'll-miss-it street food treat that's way, way too good not to be on your lunchtime hit list.
Originally an expansion of Pickle (virtuous extollers the quite brilliant "mouthful principle" and team Wriggle's go-to bread-based snack station), Ickle swiftly outgrew the little sibling moniker and has been a standing tall as a separate business for quite some time. Bringing top food quality, unreal value, service-with-a-smile and an honest drive to be different to its pint-sized trailer, we've got a feeling they're quickly going to morph into a Wriggle foodie fave around the Temple Meads area.
Expect a changing menu - inspired by Spanish munch on one day, Caribbean scran the next. Whether you fancy a decadent Mac 'n' Cheese n' beetroot number, a classic pickle & roast honey ham, or a healthy Shakshuka, every day brings a different surprise because the menu varies daily. Pop down every day, get involved and find your favourite!
Hidden little gem. In the middle of road works currently but the little hut packs a tasty lunch. Minimal service or fanciness just nice food.
My curry was delicious, the perfect lunch for a busy work day!
Jordan is an amazing cook, the food at Ickle is consistently fantastic. Thank you Jordan 👍🏾
A superb place to grab lunch. I had the butter chicken and it was absolutely delicious. I'd definitely recommend getting a bit of salad on top, adds a wonderful crunch and flavour (I only wish he'd given me more!)
Big portion and really good quality, fresh made food. Love it.
