Set aside a few hours, and head on over to the endlessly beautiful East Village Café in Clifton Village for a lazy morning of tip-top coffee, tasty food, and proper you-time.
Occupying a fabulous location under the bright white arches at the bottom of the picturesque Boyce's Avenue, lies a little slice of heaven. From its glorious frontage of tall, arched windows, to the lusciously trailing greenery adorning the shelves within; from the bright white walls and floorboards, to the gorgeous artwork elegantly decorating the walls - East Village Café is a truly beautiful place to spend time.
Don't be fooled into thinking East Village Café is a case of style over substance, though. Despite their oh-so-instagrammable appearance, these guys are deadly serious about their food and drink, too. The emphasis is on nourishing, healthy, and delicious vegetarian food, that sends you on your way feeling invigorated and restored, but most importantly, with the satisfying feeling that you've eaten something tasty and lovingly prepared.
The food is crafted using meticulously sourced, mainly organic ingredients: fresh produce comes from the neighbouring Reg The Veg, bread comes from Old Market Assembly, and coffee from the inimitable Bristol-based roastery, Roasted Rituals.
The results of this attention to detail are noticeable. East Village Café dish up a regularly changing range of warming soups, served up with great wedges of proper sourdough, exciting and original brunch dishes, including savoury corn and quinoa waffles, cardamom and orange French Toast, and Shakshouka (eggs poached in a spiced tomato sauce). Be sure to leave room for a little sweet treat, though - once you spy the absolutely dazzling range of mouthwatering cakes, brownies, loaves and slices weighing down the counter, you're not going to be able to resist.
If you're looking for your new favourite café to while away the hours whilst enjoying some properly delicious, nourishing food, then look no further than East Village Café.
Cool and relaxed vibes and one of the best vegan cafes Bristol has to offer; breakfasts to die for and an impressive selection of cakes with unique and funky flavours.
I’ve visited East Village before and enjoyed the food. I’ve always seen the cakes but never tried them, so the wriggle gave me the perfect opportunity to do so- great value.
Really attractive little place, great food and drink. The area in the back in particularly nice. Recommended.
Great food and friendly service.
Good quality, tasty food. Quick service and friendly staff. Nice interior to the cafe with lots of plants creating a warm atmosphere, sitting outside in the sun is also great, right in the hustle and bustle of Clifton village
