A bold-as-brass new kid on the Bristolian beer block knocking out sensational brews and making real waves in Totterdown with their open-to-all attitude, Wriggle loves Cocksure because they're *more* than a bloody great brewery and nifty little taproom: they're a fantastic startup guaranteeing that a % of turnover from their delicious core products (kegs of beer and bottled-beer crates) is sent straight to sustainable development projects in Africa thanks to their partnership with Send A Cow. Every sale they make helps an amazing cause – so, before we even get into the venue itself, it's hard for us not to take our hats off to these guys.
The mission from the good folk at Cocksure is a simple one: to get people drinking craft beer over mainstream brands, but in an accessible, local way. In their taproom, everything is lovingly created by founders, Calum and Dan. The beer is brewed right there, and couldn't possibly get any fresher, and even the brewhouse is made with their own hands from old soft drink tanks.
The whole ethos is summed up in the name of the beer... Cocksure... "Back yourself" is the message. They quit everything to start their brewery and want to encourage consumers to back themselves and try something different. And remember, they're not just about making great tasting beer - they also donate £1 from every cask and keg sold, and 50p from every case (24x330ml) sold, to international development charity Send a Cow. If that all doesn't inspire you to enjoy a cold one there, we don't know what will!
