Why we love it

Cafe Du Jour is a beautiful French cafe sat half way up Whiteladies Road. Serving all the french and french inspired food you'd expect, such as filled baguettes, salads, croque monsieur AND madame but you would be mad as a bucket of french frogs to overlook the daily "plat du jour", their range of cooked breakfasts (great for those who still think a continental breakfast isn't the best way to start the day!) and their full range of homemade cakes, quiche and of course, coffees.

Chevre Baguette - Goats cheese, honey, beetroot & baby leaf salad
Crouqe Folrentine - Grilled sandwiches with spinach and French brie, walnuts and provincial herbs
Assitte du jour - Platter of roast ham, chorizo, goats cheese & French brie served with roasted red peppers, gherkins, salad & baguette

Great salads!

Great service.

Great food, service and portions

Lovely tasty breakfast, and the terrace out back was beautiful in the morning.

Lovely little cafe, nice atmosphere and food.

I've always been a fan of the good coffee in Cafe du Jour, but never eaten there. the Wriggle inspired me to try it. The Cafe du Jour toast was delicious - sourdough toast with perfectly cooked scramble egg, generous and delicate smoked salmon and sliced avocado on top with a rough pesto. Might have like slightly more of the pesto on mine, but other than that a delicious weekend brunch.
