At the vanguard of a new wave of Bristolian food is Bagel Boy. Owners Mitch and Leo are the bagel boys – initially creating Bagel Boy as a pop-up in Shambarber, a barber in Stokes Croft – before finding their permanent home on St. Nick's Street. And since then they've developed a cult following.
The idea is simple but original – freshly-baked bagels, hearty fillings (including patties that basically make a bagel-burger) and fries – all given memorable names such Party Boy and Lady Boy. The style is cool, with minimalist chipboard sides and Bristolian graffiti, and endearingly chaotic. The food is quite simply delicious.
