Why we love it

Fancy yourself as a bit of a brunch connoisseur do you? Reckon you can sniff out a banging Eggs Benny at fifty paces, and know your Eggs Royale from your Eggs Florentine?

Well, you're gonna lose your proverbial marbles when you step inside Starfish & Coffee then. An independent neighbourhood cafe a mere stone's throw from the Royal Pavilion, Starfish & Coffee burn a serious flame for mouthwatering brunch dishes, championing the breakfast-lunch hybrid with their motto, 'brunch like a boss'.

So, how do Starfish & Coffee make their brunch offerings so bloody good? They start by using only local, seasonal produce, with ham and free range eggs sourced from Holmansbridge Farm near Lewes, sausages and bacon from Ockham Farm in Ewhurst Green, milk from Ringmer cows, and smoked salmon from Edburton. Their coffee comes from Brighton-based roastery Coffee at 33, and fresh bread, pastries and sweet treats arrive daily from artisan bakeries such as Coburn & Bakery, Becky's Brownies and Cookie Cartel.

All that lovely produce is then treated to some proper Starfish & Coffee TLC, resulting in some truly mouthwatering brunch dishes. Wrigglers, trust us when we say that this is brunch at its very best.

- very lovely staff - nice open space. Was a rainy day but it felt light and airy inside. Really nice they have an area you can study downstairs. - everyone thoroughly impressed with the food!! Eggs poached to perfection.

best brunch ive had!

Great food

A mouth-watering selection of wonderful dishes to pick from, with the nice option to adapt or add extras to your plate if you just can't decide what to have. Really appreciate the knowledge of their food as I had an intolerance query to check with the staff - the chef was immediately able to answer my question and offered up an alterntive straight away! It's small touches like that which really make a place stand out. The food was all so delicious, fresh, and great quality with original presentation and flair. Lovely array of drinks to choose from too. It is definitely worth the walk uphill for a visit to Starfih and Coffee, you won't be disappointed. Top notch bruch, it may have just knocked my other go-to cafe off the top of my list!

Lovely place, great vibe, fabulous food

Lovely food, it gets very busy though so you have to be a little patience. Worth the wait though!
